    Mother's Day is quickly approaching and, in honor of the U.S. holiday, two Yonkers-based health organizations, WESTMED Medical Group and Ayfa Foundation, are sponsoring a new drive to collect lightly-used baby supplies.

    The science Olympiad team from PEARLS Hawthorne School placed fifth at the Lower Hudson Valley Regional Science Olympiad during the first weekend of March. Its placing means that the Yonkers middle school students will advance to the State Olympiad in April.

  • Yonkers up for a revamp

    The city of Yonkers is on the development fast-track once more as the first phase of a multi-million dollar daylighting project last month took the cement lid off a two-block section of the Saw Mill River. Two more phases of the project are scheduled to be completed in about three years time. By projects end, the water will meander through a six-block section of downtown Yonkers.
